Barcelona Set to Play First Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou this Saturday

Barça revealed they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in domestic competition two and a half years since relocating for construction to commence.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside as per the current authorization. When completed, it will accommodate close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.

Preparatory Events

Barcelona held an open training session on the home pitch earlier this month. The club said they were hoping for permission by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture facing Eintracht on 9 December at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
