Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.

The comedian

Prolific writer for children and TV personality David Walliams is no longer with his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.

A representative for the firm commented: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the move was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding claims about conduct deemed unsuitable towards women.

The publisher declined to specify the motivations for this action, adding: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."

A Prolific Literary Career

Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, boasting over more than 60 million copies internationally in dozens of tongues.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.

Some of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.

His bibliography includes more than 40 books combined, which features a festive story called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins in October.

From Screen to Page

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.

This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
